We never charge a coin per trade
This is the whole point. On a real brokerage, fees quietly eat your practice: place a few trades to learn and you’ve already paid for the privilege. Your coins follow your skill
Free to trade doesn’t mean the outcome is random. The market still rewards skill and punishes guessing — that’s exactly what makes the practice real. Learn how to trade — read charts, use stop-losses, follow a plan — and your coins grow, with no ceiling on what a good trader can build up. Trade blind, over-leverage and chase, and your coins shrink. The difference from real trading: here, a losing streak costs you a lesson, not your savings.

Optional top-up — never a per-trade fee
If you ever run your coins down and want to keep practising right away, you can top up — but this is completely optional, and it is not a charge on your trades. The rate is simple: ₹1 = 10 coins. So ₹100 gets you 1,000 coins, and the maximum top-up is ₹1,000, which gives you 10,000 coins. That’s it. Even after you top up, trading stays exactly what it always is — free, at ₹0 per trade.
To be crystal clear: coins are virtual, have no monetary value, and can’t be withdrawn or cashed out. A top-up simply gives you more room to practise — it never buys an advantage, and it never turns into a per-trade charge.

StockYatra exists to help you learn to trade — with the real feel and touch of live markets, minus the real risk. Charging you per trade would punish the exact behaviour we want to encourage: practising, experimenting, and getting your reps in. So we don’t, and we won’t. Is StockYatra actually free?
Yes. You get 10,000 virtual coins free at signup and can buy, sell and use the learning materials without ever paying a per-trade fee. There’s no real money at risk and no brokerage account required. Topping up coins is completely optional.
Can I earn more coins on StockYatra?
Yes. Coins reward skill. As you learn — reading charts, managing risk, following a plan — and trade well, your coin balance grows, with no upper limit on what a skilled trader can build up. The better you get, the more you can earn.
Can I lose my coins?
You can. If you trade randomly, ignore risk controls and over-leverage, your coins will shrink — just like real money would. The difference is that on StockYatra a blown trade costs you a free lesson, not your savings. Losing coins is how you learn what not to do.
Can I buy more coins, and how much do they cost?
If you ever want more coins, top-up is optional: ₹1 = 10 coins, so ₹100 = 1,000 coins, up to a maximum of ₹1,000 = 10,000 coins. That’s a one-off top-up — it is NOT a charge on your trades. Trading itself always stays free at ₹0 per trade.
Why is StockYatra free when real brokers charge per trade?
